Tapering Sleeve Entertainment covered the 9th annual Sedona International Film Festival and Workshop this weekend in Northern Arizona.

The 3-day extravaganza mixed fans and filmmakers into Arizona's premier movie-lover's event. Do to the generous support of the patrons, Harkins Cinema and the Sedona Cultural Park; this year's event was almost twice as large in scope as last year's festivities. Underground and independent films screen vigorously from sun-up to sundown as the hopeful Producers lobby for distribution. The Zaki Gordon Institute of Independent Filmmaking hosted all of this year's digital features and short films, while Sedona's only theater, the Harkins 6, dedicated 4 screens to showing all of the 16-35mm features and shorts. This year saw the directorial debut of Nicolas Cage. His film entitled "Sonny", is a story about a young man in the early 1980's returning to the brothel where he was raised to get work as a male prostitute under the guidance of his harlot mother. The weekend wrapped up with actress Jena Malone introducing her 4-year old project starring Mary Stuart Masterson entitled "Book of Stars", which still plays exclusively in the festival circuit. As a student, and as a lover of film, the meager $75 admission fee to this event seems well worth it. And Sedona Arizona continues to prove that they are the hottest movie town outside of Hollywood.

Finally! The Good Things storyboards section is up. This section is interactive. Using the mouse you can compare what the shot was intended to look like with a frame from the film itself. Check it out!

The CATALOG section has become less and less important in my opinion and didn't belong on the main menu bar. So the much broader scoped DRUIDS TELEVISION section has been put in its place on the main menu.

We finally got around to updating the Static Lullaby online script. The new version of the screenplay is the official final draft that Perspective Pictures is using to film with. The update includes a complete deletion of all 4 of the old script web pages in favor of the 2 current ones. These 2 web pages contain all 83 pages of the story with quick-links to each of the 16 scenes. The format is much cleaner, double-spaced, and easy to read.

Hayden has scanned all of the hand-drawn story boards for Static Lullaby and we should have the online sometime this month.

The Games section has some New Year's fun.

Also, Happy Birthday to Adam Moore.
