The Heaviness of Here is a short film created for the Phoenix Film Project’s 2006 “Dead of Winter” short film competition. This three-minute noir mystery was written, filmed, and edited in Phoenix, Arizona over a period of three days. The fast pace of production matches the fast pace of the film, and the stream-of-consciousness narration, written by Hayden Blades, tells a frantic tale of love, treachery, and self-discovery.

Set against the monochromatic backdrop of 1950’s Nevada, “The Heaviness of Here” follows an introspective detective’s attempt to piece together the erratic fragments of the puzzle to his own existence. Written and Directed by Hayden Blades (Good Things), and David Matteson (Static Lullaby), “The Heaviness of Here” is the next chapter in the series of digital short films from Perspective Pictures Media. Starring Casey Moore (Finding the Future) as the conflicted, paranoid sleuth, and introducing Veronica Lusk as the seductress with a secret past, “Heaviness” is sure to overwhelm your senses with its frenetic mosaic of intersecting lives and hidden agendas.
