  I don’t know about all you other metal-heads, but one question I find myself asking a lot is: ‘Why is there no black metal scene in Arizona?’  Just go to any metal show and you are almost guaranteed to find plenty of our metal brethren sporting their Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir t-shirts (sometimes you may even see a Mayhem or Enthroned shirt).  Despite this, there seems to be no cohesive black metal scene out here in the valley.  It’s almost as if fans of black metal don’t know if there is any local black metal bands, and the local bands don’t know if there are any black metal fans.                                     ...continue >
While out and about in the scene, I happened upon a guy named D.J. Kilsek and stopped to chat with him. For awhile, he had a once a week deal going on with a place called Northstar at 32nd St and Bell. He’s also played some parties with a group called Cosmic Sea. Most of the time, he’s wandering around the valley, busting out some killer drum and bass and getting people dancing at house parties.    www.djkilsek.com
