Installation ------------------- Running the Game on your PC: Hogger Highway runs from a stand-alone .EXE file that can be found on the Hogger Highway CD-ROM. You can simply double-click the Hogger Highway Icon on the CD-ROM to Play the game. If you wish to SAVE your game you may need to COPY the EXE file to your hard drive (you cannot save to a CD). Press F4 to go to Full Screen Mode. Full Screen Mode works best with a monitor set to 800 x 600 pixel resolution. You may experience slowdown with higher resolution monitors. You may or may not need to install DirectX 7 on your computer to play this game. If the game doesn't work immediately, try installing DirectX (on this CD). To install DirectX 7 open the DirectX folder on the CD-ROM and click on the DXSETUP.exe icon. Follow the steps. ***************************************************** 2. How to Play -------------------- Object of the Game: Avoid other vehicles while aiming for the piggies. Squash those pigs into ham salad to keep your TIME from running out. Do not leave the area of the screen and keep an eye out for the Farmer's Truck. Go for the high score! Playing: Gas it! Brake. Steer left. Steer right. Honk horn. Special Keys: Starts Game / Pauses Game Ends the Game / Resume from Pause screen. Shows this help file. Switch graphics mode / full screen. - Note: Full screen works best with a monitor set at 800x600 pixels. Save Game. Load Game. Turn on Radio. Turn off Radio. Makes Character Speak. Change vehicle appearance (temporarily). <-Minus key> Mini Mode (drains points while pressed). <+Plus key> Restores Car to normal. Items: Hoggers - Squash them to increase game time. Bacon - Collect to increase game time. Ham - Collect to increase game time. Gold Tokens - Collect for points and to increase game time. Bonus Token - Collect for extra points and to increase game time. 1up Token - Collect to receive an extra life. A.R.M. Token - This double-sided coin can be good or very bad. D.R.M. Token - ??? It's a mystery. Hazards: Cars - Avoid at all costs (but good to lure the farmer into). Farmer's Truck - Chases you for killing his pigs. Watch out! Evil Pigs - Avoid these beasts. They will steal 1 life from you. Puddles - These will make your car slow down and lose control. Scoring --------------- Scoring: Rapidly gain points for each mile you drive. Get 100 Points for squishing a hogger. Lose 50 points if another car squishes it first. Lose 200 pts if the Farmer recaptures it. Get a Farmer to collide with a northbound car to get 75 pts. Get a Farmer to collide with a southbound car to get 150 pts. Get 50 points for each car in a pile up. Get 50 points for the Gold Pig token. Get 150 points for the Big Gold Pig token. Get 300 points for the Bonus token. Get a free life for the 1up token. Enter your name on the High Score table and compete with your friends! Hidden / UNLOCKABLES: 2,000 = New Paint Jobs. Keys 1,2.3 on NUMPAD. 5,000 = New Paint Jobs.
