Q: What category of game is Hogger Highway?
A: Hogger Highway is an Arcade-style game of the Racing genre.

Q: Why is this game rated TEEN by the ESRB?
A: Actually, Hogger Highway was never rated by the ESRB. I decided to rate the game myself and felt the closest ESRB rating would be “T” for Teen. This game contains “animated piggie violence” that may not be suitable for younger game players.

Game Playing Questions:

Q: Is this game impossible to beat?
A: You do not “beat” Hogger Highway, you aim for the top score, which is recorded on the Top Ten List when you die.

Q: What is the Farmer’s problem?
A: You killed his pigs and he must stop you!

Q: What is the point of getting the trophies?
A: There is no point. It is just for fun.

Q: How many trophies are there?
A: 10. But only the top row of trophies have messages when you click on them.

Q: How many points do I need to get the trophies?
A: 20,000 for the first one, and you get a new one for every additional 20,000 points up to 100,000. After that you get one every 100,000 points up to 500,000. You get the last one for getting 1 Million points.

Q: 1 Million points? That’s impossible! This game is insanely hard!
A: It isn’t easy, but it is very possible. Once you get 100,000 points you can use the God Hands to your advantage!

Q: Will I really get the day off of work if I show my boss that trophy?
A: No.

Q: Why does the evil pig have the word “Immune” above it sometimes? I grabbed it and it still cost me a life!
A: The word “immune” refers to the fact that the other cars can run it over and they don’t squash the pig. You are definitely not immune to the evil pig!

Q: Is Mini Mode really that important?
A: Mini Mode is essential to the game. You won’t stand a chance later on without it!

Q: When I use Mini Mode the cars only stay small for a couple seconds then get big again. What gives?
A: This was a glitch in the first version of Hogger Highway (v0.9) that was later cleared up in the online version. Only 30 copies of this version of the game were made and they were distributed exclusively at Gamers retail store in Phoenix, AZ. You can download the fixed version of the game at www.taperingsleeve.com/hoggerhighway.html.

Q: How come I can’t use the Jumbo Jet?
A: You must have a mouse with a center mouse-wheel/button on it. Use that button to click on your character’s car.

Q: How come the Jet doesn't fly above the other cars?
A: That would make the game too easy.

Q: Do any of the hidden vehicles have advantages?
A: Most of the “paint jobs” are just for fun. There are a few advantages and disadvantages to a couple of them. For instance, playing as Hogger will get you through smaller spaces, while playing as a Jumbo Jet makes it harder to maneuver.

Q: What’s with the “Death Truck”? That’s so bloody!
A: Originally Hogger Highway was going to be a much more graphic video game. It was decided early on to change the tone of the game to silly and twisted. The “Death Truck” was a graphic made for the early, bloodier version of the game. We kept it in as a hidden bonus.

Q: Why is there a “Bug” that you can drive?
A: Just for fun, like all the other vehicles.

Q: Is there more hidden vehicles than listed on the right side of the game screen?
A: Maybe.

Q: What is the point of having the “headlights” and “sunroof” buttons?
A: Those features were added mostly to complete the set of extras on the Num Pad.
They give you something to do if you are killing time on the road.

Q: What does “A.R.M.” stand for?
A: Adam Randall Moore (creator of “Hogger”). www.adammoore.name

Q: What does “D.R.M.” stand for?
A: David Robert Matteson (creator of “Hogger Highway”).

Q: Who is the baby on that token?
A: Dave

Q: Who is that dude hiding behind the 1up token?
A: Dave

Q: Who is the guy with the glasses on the A.R.M. token?
A: Adam

Q: Who is the girl on that one token? What does that token do?
A: That is the G.R.M. token and the girl is Dave's sister. Collect it for 1000 points.

Q: Do you really lose points for hitting a cone?
A: Not anymore, but it still makes a cool sound!

Q: Does “talking” do anything important in this game?
A: The “talk” button (CTRL) is there for fun.

Q: What does your character say when you “Talk”?
A: He says: “I’m gonna get you piggies! Oh…” and “Come here you little porkers!”

Q: What exactly is the Farmer screaming at me?
A: “Yee-haw! Hey boy, leave em pig’uns alone! Whoo-weee!”

Q: What other dialogue is in the game?
A: Upon a car crash you hear such phrases as: “Dear Lord!” “Gurgle Grumble!” “Ayie-cah-hoh!” “Have Mercy” and various other yelps. When you get tokens you hear such things as “Bonus!” “Alright!” “Oh No!” “Adam!” “Dave!”, and more. When you get some pork you might hear “Bacon!” or “Ham!”

Q: Who made the theme music at the beginning of the game?
A: That is a loop of a clip from a Buddy Holly song. This was used in the original game “Hogger”. Eventually the song switches to radio noise (from White Zombie’s album La Sexorcisto), and then fades out with “Hey Pig” by Nine Inch Nails. When the Farmer comes after you the song “Kentucky Bluegrass” starts to play.

Q: Wow, those are big name musicians! Did you get permission to use those songs?
A: No. But we aint makin any money off this game anyway.

Q: Who made the dance song that comes on the radio (F7)?
A: Dave made it. It is a looped clip from the song “Tarmac Jive” from the album “Nonresonance: Sullen Technique”.

Q: This game is too hard! Is there any cheat codes or passwords?
A: Hogger Highway is a game of skill. It is difficult at first, but the more you play the more items you “unlock” to help you out. There are no codes or passwords but you can save and load your game any time. Save = F5, Load = F6.

Q: What do I do now that I've mastered "Hogger Highway"?
A: Go play the original "Hogger" online, Free!
