The Banjo Player made its big-screen debut Sunday, April 24th 2005 at the Desert Stages Theatre in Scottsdale, AZ.
A small, invitation-only gathering of cast, crew and friends watched The Banjo Player on the big screen for the first time ever. Writer/Producer Harris Deitch introduced his cast and crew to the audience and explained a little about the film. “The Banjo Player” is a 30-minute “Twilight-Zone type story” blending deadpan humor, drama, and a few surprises. Aside from a few technical issues, the show went smoothly. The audience sat in silence throughout the film, listening carefully
for any clues within the film that might help them understand its complex storyline.
Some of the cast members who appeared at the screening were Danielle McNichol (Rachel), and Carol Gibson (Mother). After the credits rolled, and the audience graciously applauded, the producers treated the house to cake and free DVDs. The next step for The Banjo Player is to re-edit some lengthy scenes and cut it down to television-broadcast length.
